Tap wood maple syrup

The Tap Wood sugaring operation is located in Edenton, Ohio near Stonelick State Park.

We have around 109 acres with a mix of woods and fields. The farm was purchased by a small group of Cincinnati families for hunting and fishing purposes in the 1980’s. Once every twenty five years or so the land is logged for walnut, oak, hard maple and ash. Six years ago a forester from the state of Ohio inspected the property and noted that we had a lovely stand of sugar maples on property. I googled sugar maple and it referenced that one can make maple syrup from the sap of sugar maple trees.

This was the start of what has been a wonderful journey for our family.
